SQ Invites You to First Class for Free | Style Flavors: Selective ...

Well, award travel these days doesn?t really come for free. Airlines came up with the smart idea of imposing fuel surcharges even to their awards tickets ? and that?s making them a lot of money. Taxes can sometimes add up to a couple of hundred dollars. While that makes Economy awards expensive, it makes awards in Business and First look good.

Singapore Airlines, one of the most reputable premium carriers in the world, went so far as to protect its new Business Class and First products and did not allow partner airlines to book those seats and asked for twice the money from their own clients.

Come April 1, 2012 and both partner airlines and Krisflyer will enjoy ?Saver Awards? for the now not so new products as well. If you wanna enjoy Singapore Airline?s new premium products for free, here are the details:

Singapore ? Tokyo (return)

Standard Business Awards (old): 140,000 miles
Saver Business Awards (new): 80,000 miles

Standard First Class (old): 220,000 miles
Saver First Class (new): 120,000 miles

Singapore ? Europe (return)

Standard Business Awards (old): 220,000 miles
Saver Business Awards (new): 160,000 miles

Standard First Class (old): 330,000 miles
Saver First Class (new): 215,000 miles

The above rates don?t include the 15% discount you get when booking online on www.singaporeair.com. The new mileage values are for 777-300EUR in First and Business Class and for A380 and A345 in Business Class.

If you are sitting on a lot of Krisflyer miles and hold the PPS Club Card, the world is yours. For (almost) free.
